Carnival Weekend

It is with a grateful heart we are informing you that today's Carnival Parade and tracts churches contact leaflets distribution was a good success.
Our Lord provided strength and good health to everyone who walked in the parade. A lot of tracts were handed out and a good number of printed churches contact leaflets were handed out. All went really well and peacefully.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and participation by members who could join.
Please continue to pray for the Carnival as the first day concludes and night falls that, the peace and joy of our Lord Jesus prevails and no untoward incident occurs.
Pray also for tomorrow's vibrant Carnival Park service on the main stage, which includes worship, songs, poems, psalm, prayers and encouragement talk. May the Lord bless and accept all our efforts and striving for His Kingdom glory.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and praying earnestly that you and many of your congregation members would be able to join.
P.S.- we need more hands tomorrow to give out the printed leaflets as a good number is left to be given out.

Manchester Caribbean Carnival

Sunday 9 August – Carnival Worship

🎶 *12.00–12.50pm – Carnival Sunday Service* on the *main stage in Alexandra Park*.

Come along after our morning church services to worship together. If you can, stay afterwards to share with and pray for Carnival visitors.

It would be wonderful to have a good number from our churches joining in this weekend as we celebrate, pray and witness together.

Prayer Points for the Week

God of peace, help us listen – like the psalmist, may we be attentive to what you are saying to us. (Psalm 85)
Heal jealousy and division – where envy, resentment or rivalry damages relationships, bring reconciliation and grace. (Genesis 37)
Be near to those who are betrayed – uphold all who experience rejection, injustice or the pain of broken relationships. (Genesis 37)
Meet us in the storms – when life feels uncertain or overwhelming, help us recognise Jesus coming towards us. (Matthew 14)
Give us courage to step out – like Peter, help us trust your call even when the way ahead feels impossible. (Matthew 14)

A Warm Hello

Whether you’re new to church or new to the area, you are very welcome at St James, Moss Side and St Edmund’s, Whalley Range.

Sundays

9.30am - 20-30min service at St Edmund's
10.30am – Morning worship at both churches
Relaxed, welcoming services with prayer, songs, a Bible-based talk, and optional Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to stay afterwards for drinks and conversation.

4.00pm – Grace Community (Urdu Service)
At St Edmund’s, we gather each Sunday at 4pm for worship in Urdu, with prayer, teaching, and fellowship.

Children & Families

Children and families are a valued part of our church life.

St James – Intergenerational worship with a children’s resource table in the service.

St Edmund’s –
1st & 3rd Sundays: All-age intergenerational worship
2nd & 4th Sundays: Sunday School
