A very special occasion...

Baptism 800 x 400

Baptism & Christening Enquiries

A christening is a church service where someone, is baptised with water. We baptise babies, children, teens and adults. Baptism is the start of an amazing journey of faith — a day of joy and celebration with family and friends, and also a moment of prayer and promise as your child is welcomed into the wider church family.

Baptisms are usually held within our Sunday worship using Common Worship, so your child is baptised in the context of a praying community that will support you as you grow together. We encourage you to come along to church to meet us before the baptism and to make church a part of the rhythm of your life. We are here to support you and have a number of ways you can be part of our local church community beyond Sunday mornings (for example our Cafe Church). Being part of the family of faith is a joyful life giving thing.

A christening is not only about one special day. It’s the beginning of a shared journey over the years ahead: making space for the bigger questions of life — hope, faith and love; praying for your child through the ups and downs; encouraging good choices; and helping them discover the Christian story through church and everyday life.

If you’re exploring baptism for your child (or for yourself), we’d love to help. Further information can be found on the the Life Events part of the Church of England website. Click here to view those pages>>
